Want to become a Freemason in Wayne, Nebraska? Corinthian Lodge #83 is a place to begin that conversation. Men become Freemasons because they choose to seek membership. If Freemasonry interests you, the first step is simply to reach out and introduce yourself.
There is no expectation that you already understand Masonic traditions or know exactly what membership involves. Getting to know the Lodge gives you an opportunity to ask questions, meet some of our Brothers, and learn what Freemasonry is about before deciding whether you wish to pursue membership.
MEMBERSHIP
Who Can Become a Mason?
Freemasonry welcomes men from different professions, backgrounds, generations, and walks of life. Membership is based not upon wealth, occupation, or social standing, but upon a man’s character and his sincere desire to become a Mason.

Of Good Character
A Mason is expected to value honesty, integrity, responsibility, and good character.

Belief in a Supreme Being
Freemasonry requires a belief in a Supreme Being while leaving the practice and expression of faith to the individual.

Joining Freely
A man should seek membership of his own free will because he genuinely wants to become part of the fraternity.
What We Look For
You do not need to be perfect to become a Mason. Freemasonry is built around the idea that good men can continue working to improve themselves. We look for men who value their families and communities, treat others with respect, take responsibility for their actions, and are willing to contribute to the Brotherhood.
Just as importantly, you should take the time to decide whether Corinthian Lodge #83 and Freemasonry are a good fit for you.
THE MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
Your Path to Membership
Becoming a Mason is a deliberate process. It gives both you and the Lodge time to become acquainted before any decision about membership is made.
STEP 1
Start a Conversation
Contact the Lodge and let us know you are interested in learning more about Freemasonry.
STEP 2
Get to Know Us
Meet some of our Brothers, ask questions, and allow us to get to know you as well.
STEP 3
Petition the Lodge
If you decide to pursue membership, the Lodge will explain the petition process and answer any remaining questions.
STEP 4
The Lodge Process
The Lodge follows its established membership process, including getting to know the petitioner and considering his request for membership.
What Happens After You Join?
Becoming a Mason is the beginning rather than the end of the journey. New Masons progress through the three degrees of Craft Masonry—Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason. Each degree introduces lessons and traditions intended to encourage reflection, character development, and a deeper understanding of Freemasonry.
Beyond the degrees, Lodge membership provides opportunities for fellowship, service, education, leadership, and lifelong friendships. How involved you become is ultimately up to you.
